23 year old Nosaiba Othman is based in Sana’a and works as a social media editor. She is passionate about using her social media and communications skills to raise awareness for issues such as gender, peace, reproductive health and education. Nosaiba leads a social media platform named Hekaya (our story), which involves managing a team whose roles include data collection, animation and content creation. Hekaya focuses on sharing real life stories, supported by data, through animations, infographics and advocacy campaigns. Through collaboration with other organizations, platforms and media outlets, Hekaya spreads messages of peace and equality throughout communities in Yemen.
Hekaya won first place in a hackathon arranged in Beirut in 2018.

26 year old Ola Alaghbary is the co-founder and CEO of the Sheba Youth Foundation for Development and Peace. The foundation’s mission is to support sustainable development and peace-building through community action. They are youth-led and target women and young people throughout Yemen. Their goals include building the capacity of individuals and communities to achieve progress and social development, as well as promoting peaceful coexistence and social cohesion.
The Sheba Youth Foundation has been active on many fronts to achieve their goals. In 2018, Ola and the foundation published the Essential Concepts for Peace-building manual, which presents basic peace-building tools in a simple manner fitted to the Yemeni context. In addition, the foundation created a video campaign on the World Children’s Day named ‘Oh World Look at Us’, showcasing children singing their stories and visions of hope for the future.
